The neighbourhood plan was drawn up jointly by the authorities, the local council and the residents' council, as well as by the local population, as part of a long-standing collaboration. It reflects our shared desire to develop Pratteln in a sensible, sustainable and forward-looking way.

The Bredella West neighbourhood plan forms the basis for achieving the development goals for Pratteln. These objectives have been drawn up in collaboration with the population, political bodies, authorities and experts, and are supported by all the city's councillors.

... because a no vote would mean stagnation and uncertainty

A no vote would mean ten years of stasis. It would plunge the future of the site and that of the current tenants into uncertainty. And the infrastructure projects that Pratteln urgently needs could not befinanced.

... because attractive homes will be built in a prime location.

In the heart of Pratteln, attractive rental and owner-occupied flats will be built at various price levels and with excellent public transport links. There will be homes for all generations - young and old, families and singles, Pratteln residents and newcomers alike.

... because the neighbourhood plan offers sufficient space for local businesses.

Bredella West offers space for local businesses. The new retail space will be just as large as on the existing site. Around 400 people will work in the new district, contributing to Pratteln's economic diversity.

... because a lively meeting place isbeing created for everyone.

On the former industrial site, a lively neighbourhood will be created with green spaces, quiet courtyards and Pratteln's first pedestrian zone with shops and restaurants. Living, working and leisure will be brought together in one attractive location.

... to better connect the districts of Pratteln. 

Bredella West connects the areas to the north and promotes the important south-north link between the village and the Rhine. It is the centrepiece that unites the different parts of Pratteln. New routes, such as a subway for bicycles, will improve access to our neighbourhoods.

... because Pratteln will benefit financially.

Pratteln is only able to implement major infrastructure projects thanks to substantial contributions from landowners, the canton and the federal government. In addition, the municipality's profitability calculations show that Bredella West will lead to an increase intax revenue. This will enable the municipality to stabilise its tight financial situation.

... because the Pratteln station area willbecome greener.

The site, which is currently asphalted and closed off, will be open to all and generously planted with trees. Bredella West is bringing nature close to the grey station square, creating recreational areas for all the residents of Prattle.
